A VAN driver has died near Northleach after his vehicle left the road and collided with a tree.

The crash happened shortly after 11.30pm on Monday, April 7 on the A429 Fosse Way between the Northleach roundabout and Stow-on-the-Wold, close to Farmington Quarry.

The 37-year-old man from Farnborough in Hampshire, who was driving a white Ford Transit van, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police closed the road for six hours while officers carried out a collision investigation.

Anyone with information to the accident is urged to contact Gloucestershire Police on 101, quoting incident 512 of April 7.
