1) Bugsboarding near Gloucester
Both adults and children can try out mountain boarding, dirt scooting, biking and grass sledging all at Bugsboarding near Gloucester. Prices range from £9 for one hour hire and ride to £30 for an adult half day. Visit bugsboarding.co.uk for more information on opening times and booking a session.
2) Head for Heights at Keynes Park
The adventure centre near Somerford Keynes offers all kinds of activities, from totem pole challenges, leaps of faith and freefalls, to really get your heart racing this Easter.
Open every day over the Easter Holidays. Prices range from £7.50 for a mini monkey pole climb for ages five and up to a family ticket of four activities for £26. Visit head4heights.net for more.
3) Westonbirt Arboretum
With spring in full swing Westonbirt Arboretum is inviting families to join in on a venture to discover the awakening forest.
The event runs from Tuesday, April 8 to Friday, April 18 and lasts from 10am-4pm. Free entry after usual admission to the arboretum and no booking is necessary. Visitors are invited to meet at the gazebo behind the Great Oak Hall but are asked to leave dogs behind. Visit forestry.gov.uk/westonbirt for more events over the holidays.
4) Butts Farm
Butts Farm, based near South Cerney, invites families to milk the goats, play with the rabbits, feed the pigs, ride a pony and more. Bring a picnic and spend the whole day with the animals.
The farm is open Tuesday to Sunday from 10.30am-5pm including bank holidays. Admission is £5 for adults and £4 for children with special discount for family groups. Visit buttsfarmrarebreeds.co.uk for more.
5) Cotswold Farm Park
Baby lambs have recently been warmly welcomed to Cotswold Farm Park and some visiting the park have been lucky enough to witness one being born.
Other activities also include a touch barn where visitors can get up close to lambs, piglets and other farmyard animals. There is also a play area for children, a rare breeds section and Adam's Kitchen where visitors can pause for refreshments.
Admission for adults is £8.95 and children £7.95 with group and family tickets available.

6) Birdland
The Bourton-on-the-Water bird sanctuary offers a world of wonderful and exotic species for visitors to meet, including penguins, parrots, owls, hornbills and more.
River side walks and peaceful gardens can also be explored. Birdland is open daily from 10am-6pm. Adults cost £8.95 and children cost £5.95 with under three’s allowed free entry. Visit birdland.co.uk for more.
7) Model village in Bourton
The Model Village in Bourton-on-the-Water is a one-ninth scale replica of the village containing all the buildings from the Old Water Mill, now the Car Museum, down to the Old New Inn and the ford.
The model village is open daily from 10am-6pm. Tickets are £3.60 for adults and £2.80 for children while under threes and over sixties go free.

8) Hare sculpture trail
New to Cirencester for this year is the March Hare sculpture trail, where adults and children can pick up a trail map and discover all 50 hare statues in the town and surrounding areas.
The sculpture trail is free and trail maps can be picked up from the town’s information point at Bingham House on Dyer Street or the visitor centre at Corinium Museum. Visit cirencesterharefestival.org.uk for more.
9) Cotswold Wildlife Park
Cotswold Wildlife Park in Burford is home to lions, rhinos, penguins, giraffes and more. Visitors can watch the penguins being fed, enjoy a picnic on the grounds and take the opportunity to meet the park’s first ever baby rhino, Astrid, born in 2013.
The park is open daily from 10am-6pm. Tickets are £14.50 for adults and £10 for children and those aged over 65. Under threes can go free. Visit cotswoldwildlifepark.co.uk for more.
10) Prinknash Bird and Deer Park
Find reindeer, miniature donkeys, pygmy goats, waterfowl, pheasants and more at Prinknash Bird and Deer Park near Painswick. On certain dates throughout the holidays the park is holding its annual Mad Hatter Tea Party featuring fancy dress, face painting and refreshments. Book early as places vanish quick.
The park is open daily from 10am-5pm except on Good Friday. Tickets cost £6.80 for adults and £4.70 for children. Visit thebirdpark.com for more information and to book a place at the tea party.
