AN EASTER egg made by a Cirencester chocolatier has been named the Best Kids Easter Egg of 2014.

The IndyBest team online, part of the Independent, put together a list of this year’s top 10 best Easter Eggs for children and crowned Lick the Spoon’s egg as the winner of them all.

Lick the Spoon owners Matthew and Diana Short said they were so excited that one of their Easter eggs has achieved such a title.

"We all did a little Conga around the chocolate factory when we heard," said Diana. "The whole team has done very well."

The Chocolate Pixel Egg, decorated in hundreds and thousands, beat the likes of nationally known chocolate brands, Hotel Chocolat, Thornton’s and Lindt.

Lick the Spoon, based on Black Jack Street in Cirencester, also has a factory in Corsham Wiltshire. The business has been featured on the BBC's One Show programme and has supplied chocolates to the famous Harrods store. The Chocolate Pixel Egg comes in three sizes and is available to buy in the shop or online.
