BOTTLED water supplies are being taken to Sherston this afternoon as engineers investigate a suspected burst water pipe that has left dozens of homes cut off.
Bristol Water said: “Investigations are currently on going into the interruptions to water supplies in the Sherston and Luckington areas.
“Planned work in the area is on schedule to be complete by 5pm when the mains will be recharged, which will take approximately three hours before water supplies are fully reinstated. “ The village primary school closed at lunchtime and the Post Office Stores experienced a run on bottled water.
The firm estimates it will be 10pm before all the affected homes are reconnected.
