NORTHLEACH schoolgirl Georgia Taylor will celebrate her 11th birthday this weekend by carrying out a sponsored cycle ride for Cancer Research.
Instead of getting up early to open presents on Sunday, she will be pedalling ferociously through the countryside towards Bourton-on-the-Water on a mission to raise money for charity.
“I’m quite nervous,” admitted Georgia. “I’ve practised the route and there are a few hills I struggled with but I feel ready for Sunday.”
Several of Georgia’s family members have battled cancer and mother Lisa Hughes said her daughter came up with the idea of a sponsored cycle idea “out of the blue” one day.
Georgia will be joined by dad Ian on the day and will finish in Bourton where her family plan to have a birthday party to greet her.
She has raised £260 so far. To sponsor her visit justgiving.com/GeorgiaTaylor3003
