PEOPLE in Cirencester will be without a Citizens Advice Bureau for one week while refurbishment work is carried out.

The Cricklade Street offices of the CAB will be out of use for seven days from Monday, March 31 until Monday, April 7 in order to increase its floor space after taking on new staff.

Nick Lee, manager of the Cirencester branch, said: “We are very fortunate in that nine new advisers have joined our service. The additional advisers, coupled with new technology and updated premises will help us meet the increase demand for our advice service.”

In November of last year, a decision was made to close the Cheltenham, Cotswold and Tewkesbury branches of the CAB however a deal was struck to keep the Cirencester branch open.

Since then the Cirencester CAB has been involved with helping nearly 700 people resolve issues involving welfare benefits, employment and housing problems.

Nick Lee apologised for the closure and reminded people that help would still be available online and by telephone.
