WHEELS are already in motion for this year’s annual soap-box derby event in Tetbury.
Competitors in the Tetbury Wacky Races can reach speeds of up to 30mph on a fast course that includes a demanding hairpin turn, dubbed ‘crash corner,’ before a downhill finish.
A total of eight teams have registered for this year’s event on Bank Holiday Monday, May 5, including a new entrant in the shape of a team from South Cerney barracks.
The driver of each team that completes all three runs will be awarded a Wacky Races medal, while there are trophies for the winning team and best soapbox.
