STAFF at a Cirencester veterinary clinic are hoping for a clean sweep at the ‘Pet Oscars’ next month after being nominated five time in four different categories.
Vets and nurses at the Sidings Veterinary Surgery in Sheep Street have been left overwhelmed at featuring so heavily in the nominations for the Petplan Awards, known as the Oscars of the veterinary profession.
The surgery is up for the Practice of the Year gong, while two of its vets will compete against each other in the Vet of the Year category.
One of the clinic’s nurses has also received a nomination for the Nurse of the Year prize.
Carla Notman, who is up for Practice Support Staff of the Year, told the Standard it was nice that everyone’s hard work has been recognised.
“It shows that all the staff here are really dedicated to their work as all the nominations are cast by our clients,” the 29-year-old said.
“I never ever thought that I would be nominated for something like this, it’s so nice to think that all the work we do is being appreciated.”
A spokesman for Petplan said: “These awards provide an opportunity for people to recognise the hard work and dedication of veterinary staff and provide a great opportunity for pet owners to say thank you.”
The winners will be announced at a ceremony in Birmingham on Thursday, April 3.
