Raisin, a five year-old German Shorthaired Pointer from near Lechlade, will be competing in the open bitch category.

Owner, Jane Cule, has been entering dogs at Crufts for 60 years and has also judged at the competition on several occasions.

Jane said: “She is lively little character really. She is really clever and always picks her bowl up and puts it near her. She is very intense into one person and also very loyal but also very independent. I would like to think she would do well in Crufts because she is a neat bitch."

Mrs Cule entered her first German Shorthaired Pointer in the competition when she was a school girl, representing her mother’s Mordax, pedigree dog kennel.

Over the years Mrs Cule’s mother has tasted much success through Mordox , with the kennel picking up several accolades at Crufts over the years such as Top Springer Spaniel and best dachshund in the hound category.”
