THE A429 at the Chelworth turn off in Wiltshire is currently blocked both ways due to a three vehicle accident.
Wiltshire Police received the call at 11.55am today (Tuesday, March 4) and attended the scene at the Chelworth crossroads, south of Kemble towards Crudwell.
The incident involved a Renault Clio, a Subaru Forester and a BMW.
The elderly woman driving the Clio had to be cut free from the car by firefighters. She had two dogs with her in the car. A vet attended the scene as one of the dogs suffered serious injuries from the crash.
The woman was taken to Great Western Hospital but police currently have no knowledge of her injuries at this time.
The condition of the other two drivers is also not known yet.
The police are arranging for the vehicles to be recovered.
More to follow later today.
