A WOMAN found a decapitated goose almost on her doorstep last week and police are appealing for information.

The woman, who was also the owner of the goose, discovered  its body on or near the doorstep of her house on Cirencester Road in South Cerney.

The incident happened between 8pm on Wednesday, January 22 and 10am on Thursday, January 23.

The head of the bird was not with the body but on Tuesday February 11, the owner discovered the head of her goose in a barn that she had been working in.

She believes that the head was placed in the barn deliberately.

Anyone with any information about this incident is asked to contact Gloucestershire Police on 101, quoting incident number 172 of February 11.
