THIS year’s acts and attractions have been announced for one of the Cirencester’s biggest shows.

The Cotswold Show takes place on July 5-6 and is set to be a jam-packed weekend of excitement and amazement with attractions to suit all families and people of all ages, and with more to still be announced shortly about the brand new and exciting food festival to be held at the upcoming show.

Attractions included this year are, back by popular demand, the Monster Truck display with Big Pete. The size of the trucks and their strength and pure power for crushing cars are a clear crowd winner, and a particular favourite with children.

This year the Bathurst Arena will include the fun and frantic Shetland Pony Grand Nationals, with the qualifying round for the world famous Olympia Horse Show being held at the show. There will also be a sheep dog show with Border Collies and Indian Runner ducks, showcased by The Quack Pack, providing an interactive, entertaining and also educational demonstration for all ages.

Countryside pursuits will once again be centred in the Apsley Arena, including displays of working horses, gundog training and sheep shearing. However, this year will have a new and fascinating demonstration of bushcraft skills.

A Falconry Village with 30 birds of prey putting on a dazzling aerial performance will also take place on the 100 acre site. Along with this, there will be a Living Working Countryside area with demonstrations of traditional crafts, clay pigeon shooting, a scurry and much more.

Other animals in this year’s show will include a variety of rare breeds from Butts Farm with an area displaying all aspects of alpaca farming. From the Parelli SevernsideSavvy Team there will be a fascinating new attraction for horse lovers as owners will be given the chance at being taught how to be their own horse’s trainer.

There are more exciting and adventurous activities children can experience from go-karts, to giant bouncing inflatables and trampolines to adventurous tree climbing. Once again dogs are welcome at the show and have their own activities including an agility course and a dog show to excite dogs and their owners.

“2013 was an excellent year for us with amazing weather and new access arrangements which worked very well.” Says Show Chairman and host of the event, Lord Bathurst, about last year’s Cotswold Show. “While we can’t guarantee the weather again, we will do all we can to make the 2014 Show a great day out for the whole family and hopefully give the public an insight into some very interesting and important countryside activities.”
