POLICE have released CCTV images of a man they want to talk to about an assault at Chippenham railway station.

“The victim, a 33-year-old man from Chippenham, was returning home from a night out when he was assaulted on the footbridge,” said Det Cons Richard Day from the British Transport Police. “ This resulted in him falling to the floor and causing injuries to his face.

“We have spoken to a number of witnesses and examined CCTV footage from in and around the station, but have yet to identify the person responsible for the apparently unprovoked attack.

The incident happened on December 21 at about 10.30pm.

“Two months on, I am looking to jog the memories of anyone who was at the location at the time of the offence to see if there is any new information they can offer.

“I am also now in the position to release CCTV images of a man who I believe will have key information about the incident.”

He urged anyone with information to call the BTP on 0800 40 50 40, text 61016 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
