Cotswold District Councils's (CDC) waste collector Ubico Ltd has agreed to pick up flood-damaged items from properties at no extra cost to the owners.

Ubico has also advised that wheelie bins and recycling containers, which have been standing in water contaminated by sewage, can be cleaned effectively through the application of hot water containing washing up liquid.

Ubico has notified residents in flood-affected Spitalgate Lane and Hereward Road, Cirencester to present their waste for collection at the nearby Norman Arch on Thursday, February 20.

Ubico will attempt to collect as normal from households in the surrounding area but there may be delays.

People interested in Ubico's offer should call the CDC Flood Helpline on 01285 623123.
