GLOUCESTERSHIRE Police are advising motorists not to travel unless absolutely necessary as strong winds cause disruption across the county.

Some minor roads, particularly in the Cotswolds, have been affected with roads blocked due to fallen trees.

Inspector Steve Williams said: "We are all aware of the disruption that the flooding has caused but high winds are also posing problems in some areas.

"We would advise motorists not to travel this evening (Friday, February 14)  unless absolutely necessary, but if you must to take extra care, pay attention and look out for fallen trees and flying branches and debris"
