CHILDREN at Swell Primary School got stuck in to Chinese New Year by cooking some homemade Asian cuisine.
The infant class at the school in Lower Swell were learning about the Chinese New Year and the year of the horse.
Year one pupils enjoyed a cookery class where they made egg-fried rice, sweet and sour chicken and spring rolls.
They then had the chance to make homemade biscuits and ice cream and were all given a fortune cookie, a traditional gift at the end of meals in China, on the day.
The class had made a paper mache dragon several years ago which makes comes out to visit the children every Chinese New Year.
