A PENSIONER is believed to have been electrocuted whilst attempting to clear a fallen tree which brought down power cables in Bremhill, Calne, yesterday (February 12).

Police arrived at the scene at around 3:20pm after receiving reports that the man was injured.

The ambulance service also attended but the man, who has been named as Roger Winston Hayward, was pronounced dead on arrival to hospital.

A police spokesman said the next of kin Mr Hayward, who is from Bremhill and aged 71, have been informed.
