WIND speeds of 70 mph have been recorded this morning at Cotswold Airport as gales and torrential rain hit the region.

The arboretum at Batsford has closed today because of the gales, although the garden centre and cafe remained open.

A Tesco lorry over turned on the Brinkworth Road near Malmesbury and fell into a ditch. The driver was not injured. Recovery was postponed and the road remained open.
