POLICE helicopters spent last night searching for 'hooded figures' who had burgled a garage on Barn Way, Stratton near Cirencester.
Thieves broke into the property yesterday evening (Monday) and stole multiple items, including a petrol mower washer and a hose, before the owner's dog barked and alerted those in the house to the break-in.
The police helicopters were sent out at about 10.05pm to search across nearby fields after the offenders ran away from the property.
Stolen items were found to have been dropped in the fields and were returned to the owner. Items from the victims neighbour were also discovered which suggests the offenders burgled multiple properties.
Police searched for two males, described as "hooded" but were not able to track them down. A dog handler also joined the search.
Anyone who has any information on the burglary is asked to call Gloucestershire Police on 101 quoting incident number 533 of 10/02.
The police have no further description for the two men at this time.
