British Transport Police is appealing for the public’s help to identify a man they would like to speak to in connection with an incident which took place at Gloucester railway station.

Officers have today released CCTV images of a man they believe will have information which can assist the investigation into the incident which took place at the station’s ticket barriers on Monday, January 13 2014.

Investigating officer, PC Frank Hedley, said: “Station staff were checking tickets at the gateline barrier when a male passenger attempted to exit the station without clearly showing his ticket.

“Staff asked the man to show his ticket but he became abusive towards a female member of staff before pushing her out of the way as he made off from the station.”

Enquiries have been ongoing to trace the man responsible for the assault but to no avail.

Officers are now appealing for anyone who knows the identity of the man in these photographs to come forward and contact BTP as they believe he will have key information which can assist the investigation.
