A SOUTH Cerney-based firm, specialising in hiring out diggers and other machinery, has completed a deal for new stock said to be worth £1million.

Bison Plant Hire has purchased 22 new JCB machines for the seven figure sum in order to meet growing demand from its house building customers.

Guy Tomblin, plant manager at Bison, said: “There has been an upsurge in the house building sector which is having a significant impact on hire equipment utilisation.

“As such we have made a huge investment in JCBs, focusing on models which bring benefits to the industry.”

Mr Tomblin explained that the new state-of-the-art machines use less fuel than previous models and therefore are cheaper to hire.

“Customers have been staggered by the fuel efficiency that can be achieved. They are more than happy to pay for a premium quality machines when they realise it can save them up to £60 a week on fuel,” he said.

As well as new machines, Bison has recently expanded into new purpose-built premises and taken on more service engineers to meet the increase in demand.
