A BLAZE at a recycling centre in Wiltshire will be left to burn itself out under control, the fire and public health chiefs have decided.

Crews from Wiltshire Fire Service will remain at the site in Devizes for the next couple of days.

The alarm was raised shortly before 5pm yesterday and they arrived at the Wiltshire Waste Ltd transfer station to find 300 tonnes of waste ablaze.

Public health officials have advised locals to close windows and doors if they smell smoke, especially if they have respiratory conditions. Air quality monitoring is being carried out.
