POLICE have released the name of a 57-year-old woman who was killed in a head-on car crash near Northleach last week.
Maura Helen Drew, of Insley Gardens, Hucclecote, died when her silver Suzuki Swift was involved in a collision with a blue Ford Fiesta outside the former Windrush Cafe on the A40 at around 6.50am on Tuesday, January 14.
The driver of the Fiesta only suffered minor injuries.
Katy Skerrett, assistant coroner for Gloucestershire, opened the inquest into Ms Drew’s death on Monday, January 20 and adjourned it until July 20.
A spokesman for Gloucestershire Coroner’s Court said that Ms Drew was driving from Oxfordshire towards Cheltenham at the time of the crash.
The road was closed for several hours after the collision to allow a full police investigation of the scene.
Anyone who witnessed the accident is urged to contact Gloucestershire Police on 101, quoting incident 46 of January 14.
