CIRENCESTER based Mitsubishi Motors ended 2013 on a high with passenger vehicle sales up 38 per cent on 2012, making it the fastest growing mainstream brand of 2013.

The growth has come from the range of vehicles in the Mitsubishi range, including the new Mirage and Outlander.

The sales for the award-winning L200 pickup truck in December were up 94.76 per cent on the previous year. The L200 was the 2013 retail pickup market leader.

The £5,000 price reduction on the Shogun has transformed the sales performance on the vehicle, with December seeing an increase of 87.72 per cent on 2012 with an overall year-to-date increase of 24.02 per cent.

Lance Bradley, managing director of Mitsubishi Motors in the UK, said: “2013 has been an exceptionally good year for us at Mitsubishi and 2014 looks set to follow on from that trend with the introduction of the Outlander PHEV in the spring. This year will be another exciting year for us all.”
