CLASSICAL music star Katherine Jenkins is to appear with the National Symphony Orchestra at Westonbirt Arboretum this summer.

The top selling mezzo-soprano who toured the US, China, Japan and Europe last year, was made an OBE in the New Year Honours.

She is taking part in the Forestry Commission’s Forest Live programme, generating money to care for and improve the internationally-renowned arboretum near Tetbury. She last played there four years ago to a capacity audience.

Irish boy band Boyzone have already been announced for the series of concerts.

The star said: “I am really looking forward to returning to Westonbirt Arboretum this summer to perform again in such a beautiful location.”

Her repertoire on July 20 will include classic proms and a selection of her favourite music.

Tickets go on sale on Friday through the Forestry Commission box office on 03000 680400 or online at forestry.gov.uk/music
