AWARD-WINNING Cirencester chocolate shop Lick the Spoon was chosen over worldwide brand Cadbury’s to be shown on tomorrow’s BBC TV programme The One Show.

Lick the Spoon owners Matthew and Diana Short welcomed The One Show crew into their shop at the end of November. The show was investigating whether the shape of chocolate affected its taste, following Cadbury recently changing the shape of its Dairy Milk bars.

“After Cadbury didn’t supply a comment for The One Show, the team came to us instead,” said Matthew. “We were over the moon. Hopefully this means we’ll see many more customers. January is a very quiet year for us with people on diets or trying to save money after Christmas.”

Lick the Spoon is located on Black Jack Street in the centre of Cirencester. Matthew and Diana also have another store in Corsham, Wiltshire where the BBC crew also went to film.

As well as filming the chocolate shops, the team went on a walk around Cirencester, filming in the newly opened Morrison’s store on Dyer Street and businesses on Black Jack Street.

See Cirencester and Lick the Spoon on BBC One’s The One Show this Friday, January 10 at 7pm. Visit lickthespoon.co.uk for more information about the chocolate shop.
