COTSWOLD District Council is offering a real Christmas tree disposal service for residents.
The council has arranged for the trees to be shredded and composted provided they are taken to Batsford Garden Centre in Moreton-in-Marsh and Dobbies Garden Centre in Cirencester.
Both centres will accept trees from January 6 to January 19.
Scott Williams, Strategic Client Officer for the Gloucestershire Joint Waste Team, said: “Residents who bring their used Christmas trees to the two centres do a great job to help the environment. Once the trees are shredded, the wood chippings are taken to be composted and are put to very good use as a soil conditioner.”
The council will collect the trees for processing on Monday January 20.
