A POLICE run scheme is reminding residents to check the special security advent calendar on their website to get invaluable advice about how to safe and a chance to win £100!

Safer Gloucester is advising that be logging onto its website www.safergloucester.co.uk each day between now and Christmas Eve, residents can help protect themselves from thieves and have a safe night out in the city.

In addition to a message, there is a code word for each of the 24 days and the first Gloucester resident who emails these tocdpartnership@gloucester.gov.uk on Christmas Eve will receive a £100 High Street Shopping Voucher. The next five entries will receive a SmartWater property marking kit.

Jennie Dallimore, Chair of Safer Gloucester and Deputy Leader of Gloucester City Council said: “We want all our residents to have fun over Christmas but to stay safe. Following the tips on the Advent Calendar will go some way to ensure that that will happen. I encourage every resident to join in the fun and enter the competition on Christmas Eve – you might be the lucky winner!”

Chief Inspector Richard Burge, who is in charge of Operational Policing in Gloucester said: “ We have enjoyed a further reduction in crime in 2013 and would like to keep it that way.
