NEARLY all of the shops that were targeted by Gloucestershire Police during a recent test purchase operation have passed.
Police tested 11 shops and pubs in Cirencester, South Cerney, Tetbury and Fairford with eight of the businesses passing the test.
A 14-year-old boy, who tried to buy alcohol from all 11 establishments, was asked for identification and refused sale by the eight successful shops.
Police said that six of the eight sites had previously failed similar tests in the last 18 months.
The three shops that failed the test were issued with £90 penalty notices.
