A BIKE would not usually be at the top of a list of things to buy a seven-month-old baby, but one unique company in Ashton Keynes is doing exactly that.

Mango Bikes, an innovative bike manufacturer, will be sending one of their brand new balance bikes in the direction of Kensington Palace with a gift tag that reads HRH Prince George.

Despite the youngest member of the Royal Family not being able to sit on a saddle yet, the staff at Mango Bikes have not been put off with sending the Prince his first Christmas present.

Jezz Skelton, director of Mango Bikes, said: “We launched these little bikes that are specifically for two to four year olds. They’re called balance bikes and they’ve proved really popular since we started selling them a couple of months ago.

“A PR agency got in touch with us and they thought that it would be a really good idea to send one off to the Prince for when he’s old enough to ride it. They’re handling the actual delivery of the bike too.”

The new balance bikes, which help youngsters to ride without the aid of stabilisers, have been flying off the shelves since they were first launched earlier in the year.

Jezz said: “These bikes are really cool and they’re probably the only ones in the world that you can actually design yourself.”

Founded in 2012, Mango Bikes is a new company that specialises in sourcing and supplying bespoke bicycles.

Customers can custom-build a bicycle by choosing the model, colour and the different component variations.
