Newent cyclist, who was hit by car on Sunday, dies in hospital

A CYCLIST involved in a collision in Newent on Sunday (December 8) has died in hospital.
The 37-year-old local man was riding his bike on Glasshouse Hill at about 3.30pm when he collided with a grey Volkswagen Passat.
He was taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital with life threatening head injuries and subsequently transferred to Frenchay Hospital in Bristol, where he has now died.
The driver of the car was unhurt.
The road was closed until 6.30pm while a collision investigation took place.
