A CYCLIST has been critically injured following a collision with a car in Newent on Sunday, December 8.
The 37-year-old local man was riding his bike on Glasshouse Hill at about 3.30pm when he collided with a grey Volkswagen Passat.
He was taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital with life threatening head injuries and subsequently transferred to Frenchay Hospital in Bristol.
The driver of the car was unhurt.
The road was closed until 6.30pm while a collision investigation took place.
Anyone who witnessed the crash but hasn't spoken to police should call 101, quoting incident 289 of December 8.
- Gloucestershire Police apologised after reporting earlier today that the cyclist had died, saying they had received incorrect information.
