FOLLOWING a report of a serious sexual assault in Cheltenham over the weekend, Police have said that the attack did not happen as first reported.

Originally, the attack was reported to have happened around 10pm on Saturday, November 30 near Gloucester Road Primary School on Gloucester Road.

The woman was reported to have been walking along an alley way just off Gloucester Road when she was approached by a man who then seriously sexually assaulted her.

Detectives are no longer looking for a stranger that may have attacked a young girl, though officers are still trying to find out what did actually happen.
