Met Office expects the Cotswolds and parts of Gloucestershire and Wiltshire to be battered by 70mph gales on Monday
THE Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for parts of Gloucestershire and Wiltshire on Monday, with experts telling people to expect damage to trees and buildings.
The warning, which runs from 12.05am on Monday morning until 9pm Monday evening, was issued earlier today as part of the Met Office's early warning system.
The Met Office website offers the following information: "A very intense low pressure system is forecast to run northeastwards across the country early on Monday. At the same time, persistent, heavy rain could cause some surface water flooding.
"There is the potential for gusts of over 70 mph, especially on exposed coasts, both in southwesterly winds ahead of the low and west to northwesterly winds behind it."
