GLOUCESTERSHIRE Coroner, Alan Crickmore, has today appeared at Southwark Crown Court following an investigation by Gloucestershire Constabulary into theft and fraud offences.
Detective Chief Inspector Dave Sellwood said: “This has been a meticulous and thorough two year investigation by Gloucestershire Constabulary that followed an investigation by the Solicitors Regulation Authority.
“We are pleased that now, having been faced with overwhelming evidence, Mr Crickmore has acknowledged his guilt to 24 of the 25 charges put to him.
“We will now await sentencing on Thursday 28th November.”
Alan Crickmore, 57, of East Approach Drive in Cheltenham was charged with theft, fraud by abuse of position and fraud by false representation on March 11, 2013.
All charges are in relation to Crickmore's practice as a solicitor.
The charges followed the formal launch of a police investigation in January 2011 into matters under investigation by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA).
