SHERSTON Arts Festival gets underway tonight with a preview evening at the parish church.
Ten days of concerts, floral displays, exhibitions, lectures and art along with a colourful scarecrow trail are planned for the village.
Former vicar Rev Hugh Thomson, who was one of the founders of the boules days, has been lined up to perform an opening ceremony from 7.30pm.
Saturday sees a young musicians concert in the village hall, jewellery and children’s workshops in the Scout Hut, a young art exhibition in the British School Room and the start of the scarecrow trail.
A puppet show, a book discussion, a concert by Opera Sulis and a photo exhibition are among the highlights planned for next week.
