A350 near Trowbridge closed following fatal crash

A SECTION of the A350 near Trowbridge remains closed following a fatal road collision this morning (Friday).
The collision, between an arctic lorry and a car, happened shortly before 6:20am near the Stoney Gutter crossroads. The male driver of the car, a single occupant who is not believed to be from the local area, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Team (SCIT) are currently on the scene and road closures are likely to remain for a number of hours.
The A350 is currently shut between the Semmington Roundabout on the A361 and the West Ashton crossroads. Motorists are advised to seek alternative routes.
The road will remain closed to at least 12pm to allow SCIT to complete their invesitgation and for the lorry to be recovered.
