Gloucestershire Police appeal for witnesses after three people were injured in A417 collision near Birdlip
THREE people, including two people from Malmesbury, have been injured in a collision near to the Birdlip turning on the A417 on Sunday evening.
The collision happened at approximately 9.15pm and involved a black Ford Fiesta travelling towards Gloucester and a blue Toyota Avensis travelling from the Gloucester direction.
Both the passenger in the Avensis, a 42-year-old man from Malmesbury, and the driver, a 42-year-old woman from Malmesbury, were taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital for medical treatment that is not believed to be life threatening.
The driver of the Fiesta, a 19-year-old woman from Essex, was taken to Frenchay Hospital with serious injuries.
All three currently remain in hospital.
Police officers that attended the incident would like to thank all of the members of the public who stopped and assisted those involved and also an HGV driver who helped closed the road to ensure that the emergency services could get to the scene easily and quickly.
Investigating officers are eager to hear from any witnesses to the collision they haven’t yet spoken to and ask that anyone with information call Gloucestershire Police on 101, quoting incident number 436 of September 29.
