REISDENTS of Cirencester would have noticed herds of people wandering around with tea-cosies on their heads on Thursday.
The fourth annual Wear A Tea Cosy On Your Head Day was set up by Cirencester shop White Stuff to raise money for the Cirencester Hospital League of Friends.
Sheila Rees, chairman of the Cirencester Hospital League of Friends, said: “It’s really fun. They really enter to it and they don’t mind looking daft as it’s for a good cause.”
Tea-cosies were bought from White Stuff for £3 with every penny of the sales going straight to the Cirencester Hospital League of Friends.
People also got involved by entering the mugshot competition and submitting a photo of themselves wearing the tea-cosies.
“Things like this really raises the profile of the League of Friends,” said Sheila.
