Year-long Daniel Bingham celebrations continue with guided walk through Cirencester
TO COINCIDE with the Cirencester's year-long Bingham celebrations, a guided walking tour around the town will take place this weekend.
The walk will begin in Dyer Street at the Bingham Gallery and outside the Bingham Hall, taking in many of Cirencester's most famous locations along the way.
Daniel Bingham, who was a great benefactor to Cirencester, died 100 years ago in 1913.
Ian Hartnell, a Bingham Hall trustee, said: "By celebrating the Daniel Bingham centenary this year the trustees have tried to draw attention to both the man and his actions.
"By the time the celebrations end in October, I hope people will realise there is more to the man than just the name on a building."
An art exhibition looking at Daniel Bingham, John Beecham and Laurie Plant will also open this weekend in the Bingham Gallery.
