On Saturday 28 September, the Wiltshire Police Band will be taking part in a concert at Malmesbury Abbey. Local band ‘Ten in a Bar’ is also supporting the event, which promises to be an evening to remember. All proceeds from the evening will support the Wiltshire Bobby Van Trust.

The Trust was set up in 1998 to help elderly, vulnerable and disadvantaged people who have been victims of, or are considered to be at risk of, house crime, hate crime or domestic violence.

The charity operate Bobby Vans that provide mobile workshops for Bobby Operators, who are not only skilled lockfitters but also Fire Risk Assessors and trained Crime Reduction Officers. The charity works with numerous agencies, including Wiltshire Police and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service to ensure that the most effective use is made of facilities available and that those in need of help receive it promptly.

Tickets for the concert cost £20 per person and include canapés and wine on arrival, guests will need to arrive at the Abbey at 7pm for a 7.30pm start on Saturday 28 September. The concert provides a wonderful opportunity not only to take in the glorious surroundings of Malmesbury Abbey and listen to some great music but also to raise money for the Wiltshire Bobby Van Trust.

Jennie Shaw, Director of the Bobby Van Trust, said: "The Bobby Van Trust relies on fundraising activities in order to provide the home security service. I am delighted that this concert has been arranged to support the charity and I am really looking forward to the event."
