The Guvnor's Assembly celebrate annual tour in Cotswolds
LOCALS and tourists were startled to see an abundance of tweed-clad cyclists ride through the Cotswolds as they celebrated their annual tour.
The Guvnor's Assembly, a jaunty crew kitted out in tweed, rode throught the Cotswolds for the first time on the 24-25 of August and organiser Mark Fairhurst said he could tell the 17 participants were overwhelmed by the entire weekend's events.
"It went extremely well," Mark continued. "Everybody loved it so much. They all spent a fortune on drinks, food and accommodation which really helped the local villages we stopped off at. I've never seen bar bills so long!"
The group even stopped off at Poulton Fete and did a spontaneous parade around the main ring before being annihilated by a group of boys in a battle of Tug of War.
The assembly plan to come back to the Cotswolds next year as Mark describes the members being 'bowled over' by local hospitality.
