STUDENTS at Farmor’s School were jubilant after a string of impressive GCSE results.

Of all the pupils, 72 per cent managed to get five or more passes at grade C or more, including Maths and English, with 89.5 per cent achieving five or more passes at grade C or above.

Some of the biggest brain boxes were Megan Bird, who achieved 9 A*s and 2 As, Holly Marsh, who managed 9A*s and 1.5 Bs and Henry Bateman who was awarded 8.5 A*s and three A’s.

Maggie Harrison,16, was overjoyed after tallying up a string of fantastic results with her three A*s, six As and two B's, she said: " I am really happy to have done so well and I am really shocked.

I was predicted all A*’s but I still thought that would be a bit unrealistic. I am looking forward to coming back to Farmers next year to do my A Levels."

Orla Donohoe, 16, was ecstatic after managing to get five A*s and six As.

" I did not expect it and I am really happy. I am so surprised. I really did not know what to expect when I opened my results," she said.

And with seven A*s, two As a B and a C, Christina Cleary, 16, had plenty to be smiling about before she starts A Levels at Cirencester College next year, She said: "These results are higher than I expected. I managed to get a lot more A*s than I though I would get.

"When I got my results I was speechless and ran straight to my mum to tell her."

Ann Stokes Headteacher, said: "I would like to offer my congratulations to all the students. They were a hard working year group and deserve their success.

"At Farmor's we are convinced that working together is the way to help students really succeed and this year's results indicate that this approach is exactly right for our students."
