TWO hairdressers have cut, coloured and curled their way to becoming finalists for the British Hairdressing Awards 2013.

Josh Goldsworthy and Vicky Turner of Goldsworthy's, which has a branch in Cirencester as well as Swindon and Marlborough, have been announced as finalists for HJ's (Hairdressers Journal) British Hairdressing Awards in the Wales and south West hairdresser of the year category.

The awards are sponsored by Schwarzkopf Professional and are described as one of the most coveted in the professional hairdressing calendar.

The duo will attend a prestigious awards ceremony later on this year to find out if they have won overall.

Publishing director and host of the upcoming award ceremony Jayne Lewis-Orr said Josh and Vicky really impressed the judges: “Their entry showcased their creativity, passion and finishing skills, securing a place at the British Hairdressing Awards. Josh and Vicky should be very proud of their efforts.”

Josh Goldsworthy said he could not believe it when he heard the news: "The British Hairdressing Awards is an amazing event and to be part of it is such a highlight in mine and Vicky's career.

"We're looking forward to the evening in November, which is always a night to remember."

Josh and Vicky entered a photographic collection consisting of four images that demonstrated their talent within their chosen speciality and are now one of six finalists.

They now have to submit a further four images to create an entire collection which will be judged anonymously to reveal the ultimate winner at a black tie awards ceremony in November.
