DETECTIVES investigating the fatal stabbing of Gloucester man Neil Bennett in July have issued images of a jacket they are eager to trace.
Anyone who has found the hooded jacket, with a distinctive lined pattern, or knows where it is, should call 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111, quoting incident 532 of July 27.
Neil, 50, died close to Gloucester Park after being stabbed on the evening of Saturday, July 27.
Detective Inspector Ian Ginn said: "We're appealing to people primarily in the area of Gloucester Park who may have discovered this jacket, other clothing or in fact any other objects since the incident.
"These items may have been discarded in gardens or other hidden areas of land in the last few weeks so I would appeal to people to check their property just in case.
"We're still interested in any CCTV from the area so if you have a camera that has footage from that weekend we want to hear from you too."
Yesterday (Wednesday August 14) a sixth person was arrested in connection with the investigation.
The 33-year-old Gloucester man was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder and bailed to attend Gloucester police station on October 16, pending further inquiries.
A 38-year-old man from Gloucester arrested on suspicion of murder remains on police bail to attend Gloucester police station on September 4.
Meanwhile, four people charged with murder are due to appear at court tomorrow.
Ricky Lee James, 33 and of Spa Villas, Montpellier, Gloucester; Lucy Dowdall, 19 and of Spa Villas, Montpellier, Gloucester; Christopher Peter Horn, 29 and of Denmark Road, Gloucester; and Tyler Johnson, 25 and of no fixed abode will be at Bristol Crown Court for a preliminary hearing tomorrow (Friday, August 16).
