PLAY equipment at a primary school in Wotton-Under-Edge has been damaged and vandalised.
Gloucestershire Police are investigating the incident which is believed to have taken place over the weekend of Friday, July 19 and Monday, July 22.
Offenders entered the school site on Symn, damaged toys and equipment and attempted to set fire to a play bench and shed.
Racist and derogatory words were also written, in chalk, on the walls and sheds.
A police spokesman said: "It is disappointing and upsetting for the local community that selfish individuals would damage school property in this way.
"The local policing team are investigating and we would encourage anyone who has any information about who is responsible to get in touch."
Information about the crime can be given to Gloucestershire Police by calling 101 and quoting incident number 121 of July 22.
