THE B4040 Luckington Road is due to be closed until August 5 while Network Rail works on the electrification of the main London to South Wales line.

Bristol Water is also using the opportunity to renovate the main connecting the treatment works at Shipton Moyne with the reservoir at Tolldown and will be replacing iron pipes that were installed more than 80 years ago.

The water supply work is part of a £260 million investment programme to improve the company’s network.

Network Rail is spending £350 million electrifying the route from London to Swansea by 2018. Initial work to modify bridges, tunnels and parapets ahead of electrification has already started.

Diversions will be operating between Luckington and Acton Turville.
