VICTIMS of bicycle thefts in Gloucestershire are invited to attend an event that aims to reunite lost and stolen bikes with their owners.

The event, which has been set up by Gloucestershire Police, will act as an opportunity for anyone who has had their bike stolen recently to come and view the ones that have been recovered by police.

Kim Graham, a police community support officer, said: “We run these viewings on a regular basis and often have some really good results.

“It is worth popping along as there is a chance you could get your stolen bike back.”

People wishing to view the bikes must bring their crime letter along to the station with them – all those who reported bike thefts will have received a letter with a unique crime number on it.

Officers will also be on hand at the event to offer security marking and advice on crime prevention.

PCSO Graham said: “We’ll mark it for them and help show them how to register it – this will make it a lot easier for us to return it to you if it does get lost or stolen.”

The bike viewing will take place at Lanesdown Road police station in Cheltenham on Saturday, July 13 between 9am and 2pm.
