VISITORS from half way across the world dropped into a Cotswold village last month.
A 38-strong group from William Morris Society of Canada – an organisation celebrating the work of the English arts and crafts movement in the 19th century – visited Sapperton near Coates as part of a tour of historic buildings across the UK.
John Bullock of the Sapperton Village Hall trustees said the visitors had enjoyed seeing various buildings in the village – including the hall itself – built as part of the arts and crafts movement led by William Morris.
“Sapperton was a hub of the arts and crafts movement in Gloucestershire,” he said.
“We got the Canadian flags out and pt them on the tables in the village hall, which was really nice.
“It was a really great day.”
