A WOMAN from Cirencester has been chosen to represent a national charity who work with young people.

Franki Eaton, 24, was chosen by online charity YouthNet to become a voice for the nation’s young people.

She will be acting as a representative for the UK’s young people and raising awareness of the key issues facing 16 – 25-year-olds.

“Navigating through life’s practical and emotional issues is a minefield so I’m excited to be volunteering with YouthNet as a voice for young people to help others recognise the challenges that we face,” said Franki.

Since taking on the role, Franki has taken part in a roundtable discussion focusing on young people’s experiences of loneliness and isolation and role of digital support.

The results of the discussion will be used to inform a research poll which is being commissioned to help invoke wider conversations about young people’s needs.

Franki said: “I enjoyed getting stuck into the tasks during the discussion and hearing about other young people’s experiences. I can’t wait to see the results of the poll.”

Jemma Guerrier, deputy development director at YouthNet said: “Franki is working with us to help drive this campaign. She’ll be helping highlight the issues effecting many more thousands of young lives.”
